Don't forget:  Miss Lamb will be checking your bellwork tomorrow during your vocabulary quiz. You will receive instructions on how to format your work as your warm-up for tomorrow.  Also, tomorrow is the VERY LAST DAY Miss Lamb will take any missing or late assignments.  Make sure you turn everything into the basket!

Also--congratulations!  Our first hour has won the Friends of Rachel "Lookout Challenge."  Many of you may have participated in an attempt to earn a free breakfast, but the roots of this project are much deeper than free food.  What are the symbolic implications of "looking out" for your classmates names as you travel around the school?  What morals or lessons is this project trying to convey?  Write about it please!

For our Bellwork today, we will be completing a practice activity for this week's vocabulary words. You will have between 10-12 minutes to complete this assignment before we go over the words, roots, and meanings.

REMEMBER: Miss Lamb is checking Bellwork on Friday! Also, late work, absent work, and missing assignments are due this Friday, October 12, as per syllabus deadlines.

This picture is from StoryPeople and illustrates that perception is everything. Write about a time in your life where your perception influenced the outcome of a situation, whether positive or negative. What did you learn from this experience and has it influenced future situations? (Your responses should be AT LEAST a paragraph in length.)

Since Miss Lamb was gone on Friday and the day was shorter, we will have a few minutes to finish our newest set of vocabulary words and roots.  Get out your handout and get to work!

The Power of Positive Thinking!

Before we take our Native American Literature Exam today, think back to everything we have covered thus far this year.  What were some of your strengths?  What did you like best?  Why?

After we spend a few minutes answering these questions, Miss Lamb will give you some time to organize your papers and look over your notes before we begin our exam.

Do you think the difference between right or wrong is clear or unclear?  Why or why not?

Miss Lamb will check your warm-ups on October 12, 2012!  :-)

Using your copy of "Superman and Me" highlight or underline the "bones" of the essay.  What sentences or images really stick out to you?  Why?
